Job Details Position: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Long Term Care / Travel OT Location: Rutland, VT 05701 (Rutland, Vermont healthcare job) Setting: Long Term Care Facility / Skilled Nursing Employment Type: Travel Contract (13-week Travel OT position) Start Date: April 13, 2026 End Date: July 11, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 35 hours per week Expected Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8 hour days) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1350-$1460 Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Vermont, or eligibility to obtain VT licensure (Vermont OT license) Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience preferred; long term care (LTC) or skilled nursing experience a plus Experience with ADL retraining, adaptive equipment, splinting, therapeutic activity and discharge planning Current COTA certification if applicable Strong documentation skills (electronic medical records) and ability to maintain accurate patient records Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary rehab team Key Responsibilities Evaluate and assess residents' functional status to develop individualized OT treatment plans Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, independence in ADLs, and safety Recommend and train residents and families on adaptive equipment, home modifications, and compensatory techniques Document patient progress, prepare concise treatment notes, and contribute to care plans in the EMR Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, social work, and medical staff to coordinate care Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, resident-centered long term care environment Why Join Us - Rutland, Vermont (Travel OT / Occupational Therapy Jobs) Rutland offers access to year-round outdoor recreation, a vibrant downtown arts scene, and strong community support for healthcare professionals.
