Purpose Lead, conduct and report on strategic initiatives to engage alumni in meaningful ways that enhance student career success, foster lifelong connections, and position the College of Natural Sciences as a premier destination for employer and alumni engagement. Design and deliver high-impact programming, mentorship opportunities, and experiential learning opportunities in collaboration with other departments. The coordinator will work closely with the CNS Career Services Employer and Alumni Engagement Team, UT Austin Career Success, the CNS Office of Experiential Learning, and other employer-facing professionals to advance the College's career development goals. To advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for designing and implementing alumni engagement programs that align with student interests and workforce trends, including building alumni databases and processes from the ground up. Researching prospects, initiating outreach, developing relationships, communicating opportunities, and tracking contact, interest, and participation. Leveraging data from engagement tracking platforms to inform strategy, executing multi-channel marketing initiatives, and fostering mentorship opportunities by engaging advisory council members. Collaborates with various university departments to develop new initiatives, piloting and providing feedback on digital engagement tools, and supporting alumni-student interactions to strengthen community connections. Managing mentorship initiatives that connect alumni and students, organizing career development events, coordinating speaker series, facilitating experiential learning opportunities, leading joint service and philanthropy projects, and planning targeted alumni events such as homecomings and reunions. Promote alumni achievements, recruit and manage student ambassadors, and develop programs that foster lifelong alumni connections. Act as a liaison between university leadership and the alumni/student community, providing valuable feedback and fostering collaboration across departments. Responsible for engaging advisory council members to nominate alumni for mentorship and speaking opportunities, co-creating initiatives with key university partners, and piloting online networking platforms to enhance engagement. Support event planning, ensure smooth operations, gather feedback, and track engagement outcomes to inform strategy through the use of platforms like 12Twenty. Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in mentoring, coaching, career services, health professions, natural sciences profession, human resources, or a related field. Strategic collaboration and ability to work across departments and with advisory councils. Program development, implementation, and evaluation involving different stakeholders. Event planning expertise, including logistics, promotion, and follow-up. Relationship building with alumni, students, faculty, and industry partners. Detail oriented and process minded, keeping a variety of initiatives organized. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external partners. Data literacy and familiarity with engagement tracking platforms. Marketing and outreach proficiency using multiple digital channels, as well as adeptness with Canva and PowerPoint for marketing materials creation. Understanding of mentorship models and ability to facilitate alumni-student interactions. Technology proficiency with CRM, event management, and collaboration tools. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications UT-Austin Alumni in some capacity. Salary Range $60,000 - $62,225 Working Conditions Full-time position based on campus. Occasional evening or weekend work for events, employer engagements, and student career development activities.
