Job #: 159787 Title: CDL A Reefer Hazmat Truck Driver Location: Martinsville, VA Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000 annually, depending on experience Position: CDL DRIVER Description: AmeriStaff Employment & Staffing Solutions is hiring for a CDL A Reefer Hazmat Truck Driver. This position is for a client located in Martinsville, VA. The CDL A Reefer Hazmat Truck Driver is responsible for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials to, from, and within customer facilities using refrigerated trailers and heavy-duty vehicles. This role ensures freight is transported safely while maintaining required temperature conditions and complying with all state, federal, and local regulations. In addition to driving responsibilities, the driver will assist in plant operations as a Stacker/Wetout Technician, stacking liners on pallets according to customer specifications and assisting inspectors to ensure products meet quality standards. Pay: $55,000 - $62,000 annually, depending on experience Safety: • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times. • Operate vehicles in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. • Perform visual inspections of equipment and vehicles before leaving the facility, during operation, and upon return. • Immediately report accidents, incidents, equipment damage, or unsafe working conditions. • Utilize safe driving practices when operating vehicles in heavy traffic, inclement weather, and confined spaces. • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle interior and work environment. Quality: • Monitor freight throughout the trip to ensure proper temperature and condition. • Complete all inspection reports, work orders, shipping documents, and related data accurately. • Assist inspectors in reviewing liners to ensure products meet quality standards. • Report any quality issues immediately to the Supervisor. Job Specific: • Safely transport refrigerated freight while maintaining proper temperature requirements. • Load and unload trailers, with or without mechanical handling equipment. • Record hours of service using an electronic logging system. • Communicate with dispatch and maintenance regarding equipment issues or operational concerns. • Maintain professional interactions with customers and the public. Stacker / Wetout Technician Duties: • Read construction and customer requirement sheets to ensure specifications are met. • Assist with machine setups as needed. • Stack liners neatly on pallets according to customer requirements. • Assist with wrapping and strapping completed liners. • Inspect liners as they come off the line and report defects or quality issues. • Check drive rollers for needles before running coated material and after running felt material. • Ensure repairs remain outside folds when stacking liners. • Confirm proper pallet size with Supervisor prior to stacking. • Monitor supplies and report shortages to Supervisor. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. • Perform other duties as assigned. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, hourly position that requires both driving and plant work when not on the road. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, though flexibility may be required based on operational needs.
