Nutrition Specialist

Anticipated End Date: 2026-03-06 Position Title: Nutrition Specialist Job Description: This role allows associates to work virtually full-time, with occasional mandatory in-person training sessions, providing flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity and supports work-life integration while ensuring essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9 - 5:30 pm EST. The Nutrition Specialist will play an essential role in enhancing the health and well-being of our members. This position is vital for creating programs that educate patients about nutrition and delivering effective medical nutrition therapy. How You Will Make an Impact: Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and gather detailed nutrition histories from patients. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to determine each patient's nutritional needs and dietary restrictions. Design tailored therapeutic diets and oversee meal preparation and service for patients in various healthcare settings. Guide patients through their meal plans and dietary changes, setting achievable goals and objectives. Evaluate and monitor nutritional care, providing ongoing support to ensure continuity of care. Document individualized nutrition care plans thoroughly. Inspect meals to ensure conformity to prescribed diets and nutritional standards. Educate patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary planning, food selection, and meal preparation. Provide training to staff on nutrition and diet therapy. Successfully pass the CNSC exam within 12 months of hire and maintain certification. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or equivalent education and experience. Must be a registered dietitian. Successful completion of the CNSC exam is required within the first year of employment. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences: Experience in nutritional coaching for members with conditions such as CAD, COPD, Asthma, Diabetes, HTN, and HF. Ability to meet necessary internet speed requirements and adhere to remote work agreements.
