We are looking for a Senior Manager to develop and lead the Data Loss Prevention Team, reporting directly to the Head of Security Operations. You will closely collaborate with cross-functional leaders within the Information Security team, responsible for shaping the long-term vision and strategy of the Data Loss Prevention Program at Coinbase. Your role will entail constructing a robust Data Loss Prevention program from the ground up, refining processes, and deploying advanced technologies to swiftly identify, manage, and mitigate data security incidents. Key Responsibilities: Enhance data loss prevention capabilities to protect the Coinbase ecosystem against complex data security incidents. Establish a clear vision and strategic direction for the Data Loss Prevention program. Design and oversee intricate controls in a decentralized tech environment, ensuring security measures support business operations. Provide technical mentorship for deploying DLP tools and technologies in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including endpoint security and IT. Improve operational efficiency across diverse DLP Engineering & Operations by utilizing LLMs and agentic AI. Promote an automation-first mindset to streamline and scale DLP operations. Advise the CISO and Senior Leadership Team on emerging data protection threats in the crypto sector. Create quantitative and qualitative metrics to communicate program performance and challenges to leaders. Lead cross-functional data protection initiatives in partnership with Security and Privacy Teams. Work with risk teams to assess control effectiveness and adapt to evolving global regulations. What We Expect from You: You are a seasoned team leader with a successful record of delivering measurable results. You have led substantial data loss prevention programs across an organization. Your technical expertise allows you to address operational challenges with engineering solutions. You possess hands-on experience in testing, tuning, and deploying data loss prevention controls across various OS stacks. You are skilled in managing controls across multiple systems (iOS / Chrome) and understanding decentralized datasets. You excel at designing scalable processes, implementing automation where feasible, and leveraging ML/AI to enhance efficiency. You approach collaboration with discretion and thoughtfulness to mitigate risks. You are well-versed in the insider threat landscape, including the legal, regulatory, and ethical implications of managing sensitive data globally. You are familiar with Insider Threat technologies (such as SIEM, UBA, and DLP) and their investigative and intelligence cycles. You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; colleagues appreciate your clarity and comfort in seeking your insights for drafting reports and assessments for leadership. You thrive in collaborative settings and can seamlessly transition between novice and expert roles. You have experience managing remote teams across different time zones. You bring business acumen with a solid understanding of business dynamics, objectives, and product strategies, especially in relation to how Security intersects with Coinbase's overall business model. You can balance business needs, urgency, and competing demands, delivering high-quality, practical solutions in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience managing and leading enterprise-wide DLP Programs. Proven ability to tackle operational challenges with an engineering and automation-focused approach. Experience in Web3 and crypto-oriented organizations or traditional financial institutions. Job ID: P74246 Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $243,865 to $286,900 USD.
