As a Senior Operations Program Manager in the HQMS team, you will lead up to two intricate hardware development programs, guiding them through the new product introduction (NPI) process at our contract manufacturers. Your key responsibility is to ensure that units are delivered to the supply and demand planning team to meet critical deadlines by effectively managing factory execution and yields. You will oversee the entire program life cycle, from concept through PVT, and transition them into Sustaining Operations for mass production. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Program Leadership: Drive manufacturing readiness through all development phases while owning operational commitments and milestones. Manage factory execution and yield to fulfill channel fill requirements on time. Lead cost optimization initiatives and develop risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Collaborate with the Materials NPI Program Manager on material readiness and risk-buy decisions for PVT. Ensure BOM readiness and alignment with engineering changes and manufacturing needs. Oversee program budget ownership and optimize costs throughout manufacturing operations. Manage up to two concurrent programs from development into Sustaining Operations. Manufacturing Operations Leadership: Lead the establishment and qualification of production lines through EVT, DVT, and PVT phases. Conduct Build Readiness Reviews (BRR) and manufacturing readiness reviews at each phase gate. Partner with the MTE team to implement factory test strategies and manage risk and issues. Coordinate with NPI Engineers and the Factory to ensure optimal layout, process qualifications, and equipment acceptance. Achieve UPH targets and optimize production lines within program budgets. Resolve complex issues throughout the NPI cycle. Cross-functional Management: Collaborate with EPM to ensure overall program success. Coordinate efforts across Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging, Accessories, Hardware R&D, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience. Maintain strong relationships and engagement with contract manufacturers. Drive resolution of technical and operational challenges. Facilitate core team meetings and factory NPI development sessions. Influence decisions at senior leadership levels using data-driven insights. Technical Operations: Develop and manage manufacturing test strategies. Drive initiatives for production yield improvements and cost reductions. Manage the change control process for production line modifications. Lead CAPEX planning and execution. Make strategic decisions regarding factory selection and UPH targets. Reporting & Communication: Provide weekly executive updates on program status, manufacturing readiness, costs, risks, and dependencies. Ensure proactive communication across US, Taiwan, and Vietnam stakeholders. Identify cost opportunities and report on risk mitigation strategies. Present manufacturing readiness at phase gate reviews. Track and report yield, quality, and efficiency metrics. Lead operational meetings and document key decisions. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred). 10+ years in manufacturing operations or a related technical field. 7+ years of program management experience leading complex hardware programs. 5+ years of experience working directly with contract manufacturers in Asia. Preferred Qualifications: Proven success in managing NPI programs from concept to mass production. Experience handling multiple programs at various lifecycle stages simultaneously. Strong financial acumen with a background in managing program budgets and CAPEX. Ability to influence leadership decisions through data-driven recommendations. Our compensation reflects the labor market across the US and is based on various factors, including location, experience, and skills. The anticipated base pay for this position ranges from $133,800 to $231,300 annually, depending on your geographical market and qualifications. In addition to base salary, Amazon offers a total compensation package that may include equity and sign-on bonuses, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
