We are seeking a Lead Data Center Architect to spearhead our most advanced data center projects, focusing on high-availability, power-dense environments for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who excels in the realms of scalable modular infrastructure and mission-critical resilience. You will serve as the architectural cornerstone of a multidisciplinary team, seamlessly integrating intricate cooling and power systems into sustainable designs. You will drive the design lifecycle from inception through construction, ensuring that the infrastructure we create keeps the world connected. AI and Innovation As part of our dedication to innovation, all team members will receive training on Microsoft Copilot and be empowered to utilize it as a fundamental tool in their daily work. Key Responsibilities: Lead architectural design and technical documentation for large-scale data center projects, ensuring comprehensive oversight of site planning and complex configurations. Develop detailed Basis of Design (BoD) documents and site-fit analyses that prioritize power density, tiered redundancy, and future-proof modular expansion. Serve as the technical lead during presentations and workshops, translating intricate operational requirements into actionable architectural solutions. Create and maintain BIM models using Revit, coordinating across disciplines and performing clash detection with Navisworks to minimize construction-related issues. Interpret and apply pertinent codes and standards including IBC, NFPA, and TIA-942 to guarantee compliance at all design stages. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and IT/telecom teams to eliminate clashes and ensure feasibility of systems. Evaluate and refine construction documents, specifications, and detail drawings to ensure technical accuracy for client review and permitting. Conduct site assessments to verify existing conditions that impact architectural planning and optimize scalability. Lead quality control reviews, validating design deliverables while mentoring junior architects to elevate team competency. Manage RFI responses and ensure timely package turnovers align with project schedules. Document and track design changes meticulously through formal change control processes to maintain client alignment. Incorporate sustainable design principles as applicable, supporting LEED documentation and energy-efficient material choices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program is required. Licensed Architect with responsible charge authority; must be able to obtain additional state registrations as needed. At least twelve years of professional experience in architectural practice, primarily focusing on mission-critical/data center design. Comprehensive understanding of scalable data center design principles, including modular growth and critical infrastructure. Strong grasp of relevant building codes and standards such as IBC, NFPA, and TIA-942. Excellent technical communication skills to interface effectively with clients and team members. Experience in mentoring junior staff, fostering professional development within project teams. Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000/year based on location, education, and relevant experience. Includes leadership incentives, bonuses, and ownership investment opportunities. Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement plan with matching, professional development support, and generous PTO & holidays. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center facilities and their unique design demands. History of delivering LEED-certified projects, with knowledge of sustainable materials and energy-efficient strategies. Familiarity with commissioning and start-up phases of critical facility projects. Aware of project cost management and schedule constraints to effectively balance design innovation with practical execution.
