Position Purpose: The role of the CDL-A Delivery Driver is vital in maintaining the efficiency of our country's food supply chain. You will not only ensure that our customers receive their products safely and on time, but you will also serve as the face of our company, building lasting relationships with them! Primary Responsibilities: Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to provide accurate and timely answers to inquiries. Collaborate as a team member to complete tasks that serve the company's best interests. Conduct all safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of the truck and trailer as per DOT regulations. Report any safety concerns and needed repairs promptly. Adhere to all DOT regulations and internal safe driving policies. Immediately report safety hazards and check trailers for properly loaded and secured freight. Complete count checks on items and verify customer invoices for accuracy. Adeptly handle paperwork associated with freight in a clear and legible manner. Transport the tractor to the loading dock and connect to the preloaded trailer as needed. Deliver customer orders following a predetermined route schedule. Unload products from the trailer and assist in placing them in designated areas for customers. Conduct damage assessments on products, scan items, and consult with supervisors about returns as necessary. Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures as required. Collect payments (cash or checks) when necessary and load customer returns onto the trailer securely. Ensure the security of the tractor, trailer, and freight at all times. Return damaged goods and customer returns to the driver check-in and complete the necessary paperwork. Maintain detailed records of the hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. Keep the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers clean and organized. At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and finalize paperwork. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED 6+ months of commercial driving experience Valid CDL-A Must be at least 21 years old Meet all state licensing and certification requirements (where applicable) Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Successfully pass post-offer drug tests and criminal background checks Pass a road test Hold a valid DOT Health Card or be able to obtain one Capable of manually lifting and utilizing equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates for product movement during shifts, handling items generally weighing between 10 to 35 pounds and up to 60 to 90 pounds depending on location.
