Job Description The Army National Guard relies on advanced technology both in training and on the battlefield. As a Special Electronic Devices Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing essential instruments like night vision gear, electronic range finders, battlefield lighting systems, and chemical detection devices. Key Responsibilities: Conducting tests on navigational systems and simulators; Interpreting technical diagrams and manuals; Replacing faulty components; Ensuring adherence to quality control standards; Troubleshooting and inspecting equipment. Experienced technicians will also have opportunities to train and mentor junior Soldiers in their roles. Through comprehensive training, you will gain experience that opens doors to careers with organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, or the National Weather Service. Earn While You Learn: Rather than paying for your training, you will be compensated while learning these valuable skills. In the Army National Guard, you will earn a paycheck while qualifying for tuition assistance. Training Overview: Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training to learn fundamental Soldier skills, followed by 25 weeks of Advanced Individual Training that includes classroom instruction, hands-on equipment practice, and simulations in a field environment.
