RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. Support residents with mobility: transferring, repositioning, ambulation, and utilizing mobility aids as necessary. Take and record residents' vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration) and monitor for changes in condition. Serve meals and assist residents who require help with feeding; monitor and record their intake and output as needed. Perform basic room care tasks: change bed linens and ensure that resident rooms and common areas remain clean, safe, and sanitary. Provide incontinence care, assist with toileting, and uphold residents' dignity and comfort. Observe and report on residents' physical and emotional status; offer companionship and emotional support; alert supervising nurse to any changes or concerns. Communicate effectively with residents, families/POAs, and the care team about residents' needs, status, and observed changes. Adhere to all facility policies, including those related to infection control, safety procedures, and resident confidentiality. QUALIFICATIONS: A valid Connecticut CNA certification. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. A compassionate, resident-centered attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Physical stamina and ability to lift, turn, move, and assist residents, including bending, standing, walking, and performing some heavy lifting as required by resident care. Comfortable working in long-term care or skilled nursing environments; previous experience is preferred but not mandatory. Dependable attendance and reliability; ability to work collaboratively as a part of a care team while respecting residents' dignity and safety.
