Job Description

At Jacobs, we're committed to enhancing our world through impactful environmental projects, and we understand that accurate estimations are crucial for their success. We're looking for a talented Environmental Cost Estimator to create estimates for a range of projects, including intricate environmental designs, heavy civil works, operations and maintenance tasks, as well as military and government facilities. As a vital part of our enthusiastic team, you will dive into design documents, proposals, specifications, and drawings, engage in design development discussions, and conduct site visits to accurately define project scope and associated costs. In this position, you'll play a key role and mentor others by preparing estimates through developing project work breakdown structures, executing comprehensive scope of work take-offs, and assisting contract staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors. You'll apply the appropriate construction methodologies to ensure high-quality inputs for effective design build construction estimates. Leveraging both your analytical and creative skills, you'll produce valuable reports and presentations while analyzing historical data. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management Proficiency in current technology (Word, Excel, estimating, scheduling, and database software) Deep understanding of estimating processes, including quantity takeoff, crew development, productivity relationships, material quotations, risk management, markup structures, and estimate documentation Experience with quantitative risk analysis software, including @Risk and Primavera Risk Analysis Familiarity with industry estimating software, such as Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid, and MII Estimating Systems Understanding of project scheduling and ability to use Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project Able to travel to meet project requirements Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills Capable of working independently Effective in relationship building and conflict resolution Experience in mentoring junior staff Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
