We are proud to partner with some of the world’s most significant and rapidly growing organizations, facilitating safer, smarter cities, backing the data centers of major corporations and cloud providers, and addressing the ever-increasing demand for data storage in the AI-driven era. As we face today’s distinct challenges, we invite you to bring your unique skills to build the future of data storage together. Job Description As a Senior Director of IT - Supply Chain Systems Strategy, you will be the key technological ally to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and the Global Supply Chain leadership team. You will be responsible for overseeing the complete systems architecture, platform selection, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of systems that facilitate capital planning, supply planning, procurement, risk management, order management, logistics, fulfillment, and inventory optimization. This pivotal role will directly impact cost of goods sold (COGS) and operating expenses (OpEx), ensuring supply continuity and agility, enhancing customer delivery performance, and optimizing inventory turns. Lead architecture discussions for all supply chain-related systems (Advanced Planning Systems, S&OP/IBP, Supply Chain Risk, Fulfillment, Logistics, Transportation, Supplier Collaboration, etc.). Drive the selection, configuration, and deployment of modern supply chain planning and risk platforms (e.g., Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Resilinc, Riskmethods, Everstream). Automate manual tasks across planning, procurement, logistics, fulfillment, and supplier management to enhance efficiency using RPA, low-code solutions, AI/ML-driven exception management, and predictive analytics. Deliver measurable improvements in service levels, inventory turns, COGS, supplier collaboration, risk-based decisions, planning cycle time, and critical customer-facing metrics. Build and lead a high-performing team of architects, analysts, and engineers focused solely on achieving supply chain objectives. Manage a multi-million-dollar project and operational budget with clearly defined ROI and payback metrics. Create a seamless connection between Supply Chain and the broader CIO organization. Qualifications Significant IT leadership experience focused on vertically integrated supply chain systems in complex, build-to-order or high-mix manufacturing environments. Demonstrated success in selecting and implementing modern Advanced Planning, Integrated Business Planning, Supply Chain Risk, Logistics, Transportation, and Supplier Collaboration platforms that significantly enhance inventory turns and reduce COGS. In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes including PLM, MRP, S&OP/IBP, demand planning, capital planning, supply planning, sourcing, inventory optimization, and multi-echelon inventory planning. Proven experience in eliminating manual processes through automation, workflow improvements, and AI/ML implementations. Strong enterprise architecture knowledge; capacity to design scalable, resilient cloud-first architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP). Hands-on experience with best-in-class planning and risk tools. Experience in vertically integrated manufacturing sectors dealing with complex, high-value, long-lead-time products (such as semiconductors, analytical instruments, medical devices). Solid financial acumen; ability to develop business cases and present them to C-level executives. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s/MBA preferred. Preferred Skills Certifications: APICS CPIM/CSCP, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, or similar. Experience with Generative AI/LLM use cases in supply chain (scenario simulation, risk narrative generation, automated supplier communications). Prior success in organizations undergoing significant transformation. Additional Information Western Digital is dedicated to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and employees.
