Department Overview The Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team is dedicated to delivering advanced solutions to the public safety sector. We are focused on providing tools that enable our customers to prioritize their mission and enhance their ability to respond effectively and safely. We support a range of products, including Emergency Call Handling, 911 Equipment, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems, and Mobile Data Computing. Job Description This is a remote position with significant travel requirements (over 75%). The Emergency Call Handling (ECH) Field Engineer will report to the ECH Field Engineer Manager and is accountable for implementing systems based on site-specific designs. This includes on-site configurations, testing, cutover activities, and post-cut support for Motorola's on-premise and cloud-hosted ECH solutions. Key Responsibilities: Configure systems for all supported ECH solutions, including hybrid cloud and SaaS applications. Conduct site verification testing before transitioning a site into production. Troubleshoot connectivity between local site infrastructure and cloud-hosted environments. Provide deployment support to customers and channel partners during the ECH solution implementation. Document all changes to the solution, including configurations and API integrations throughout the project phase. Resolve installation and quality issues promptly and effectively. Develop and approve Methods of Procedure (MOP) for cloud migrations and system upgrades. Participate in pre-contract presentations and customer negotiations as required. Stay updated as a subject matter expert in emerging cloud-native technologies for public safety. Preferred Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in deployment and integration of complex IP products and systems. Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment models (e.g., Azure, AWS, Private Cloud). Experience in troubleshooting cloud-based applications, including issues related to connectivity, latency, and identity management (SSO/Active Directory). Additional Experience: Installation, administration, and troubleshooting of server virtualization (VMWare ESXi 6+ or Microsoft Hyper-V 2012+). Working with database servers, particularly Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2016). Managing server operating systems, especially Windows Server (2008 R2 and 2012 R2) and workstation OS (Windows 7 & 10, Linux). Experience with network switches, preferably Cisco IOS, and basic firewall and router knowledge (Fortinet FortiGate). Familiarity with server and workstation hardware. Prior experience in public safety application deployment and integration, and/or operations and administration is preferred. Ability to make informed decisions based on judgment of methods and techniques for achieving solutions. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: College Degree in Engineering, IT, or related technology field. 3+ years of experience in deployment or integration of complex IP products and systems. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are advantageous. CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications. Compensation: Target base salary range is $75,000 - $85,000. Pay varies based on individual knowledge, skills, and experience. Basic Requirements: High School diploma or G.E.D.
