GENERAL PURPOSE: The Loss Prevention Team Leader (LPTL) is responsible for safeguarding the assets of Ross Stores, Inc. while achieving our shortage and safety goals across multiple stores. You will manage and direct loss prevention initiatives, fostering strong partnerships at the store, district, and zone levels. Collaborating with Operations and Human Resources, you will implement solutions to minimize operational shortage, mitigate theft and fraud, and ensure a safe shopping environment for Ross associates and customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Minimizing Operational Shortage: Achieve shortage reduction goals across assigned areas. Understand and respond to shortage processes and analytics. Identify shortage risks and work with stores to create action plans. Conduct consistent and objective loss prevention audits to promote improvement. Coach store leaders and associates on best practices to minimize shortages. Support stores during inventory processes and adhere to budget guidelines. Mitigating Theft & Fraud: Identify and resolve internal and external theft, minimizing financial impact. Utilize merchandise protection tools to combat loss in stores. Ensure effective execution of all deterrence resources. Conduct investigations and drive timely resolutions to theft cases. Maintain confidentiality throughout internal investigations and take corrective actions as needed. Drive awareness of theft techniques and prevention strategies. Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment: Aim for achieving accident reduction goals in assigned areas. Conduct regular safety audits and promote a safety-first culture. Engage in crisis management and coach teams on prevention techniques. Ensure security technologies function correctly and evaluate building integrity. Developing Great Teams & Partnerships: Train store leaders and associates on loss prevention initiatives. Foster partnerships with corporate and field teams to drive solutions. Take part in recruitment and development of store-based Loss Prevention associates. Promote effective internal communication and engage with external partners. QUALIFICATIONS: BA degree or equivalent experience preferred, especially in Business or Criminal Justice. 5+ years of direct, multi-unit Loss Prevention experience. Proven record of success in driving loss prevention and fraud prevention programs. Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of Loss Prevention technologies is a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in an office setting, primarily on a computer. Must be able to travel and stand for prolonged periods. Regular attendance and timeliness are required. This role balances in-office presence with occasional remote work for collaboration. This position shares supervisory responsibility for up to 75 store-based Loss Prevention associates across assigned areas.
