Join Legrand's dynamic Audio Video Division as a Purchasing and Planning Specialist and take your career to the next level! What Will You Do? Efficiently place purchase orders, manage confirmations, and maintain comprehensive reports to align with manufacturing and engineering needs. Process engineering change orders and effectively communicate revisions and obsolescence to vendors. Engage in sourcing and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers for existing and new products. Lead and participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring timely completion and goal alignment with both domestic and international teams. Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers promptly. Maintain accurate master data in the ERP system, ensuring up-to-date information for decision-making. Identify and actively implement cost reduction strategies. Assist in the qualification of new vendors to enhance sourcing capabilities. Monitor inventory levels and usage patterns to optimize stock control. Collaborate closely with Senior Buyers/Planners for direction and support on escalated issues. Help recommend and develop improved purchasing processes and procedures. Coordinate with various departments to assess material needs and schedules, keeping stakeholders informed of any commitment concerns. Maintain organized purchase order files, invoices, and purchasing records. Demonstrate a commitment to compliance, privacy, and ethics while upholding all applicable regulations. Proactively identify workplace hazards and participate in safety programs and initiatives. Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, combined with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing environment; a blend of relevant education and experience will also be considered. Required Skills: Strong capability to work independently while exercising sound judgment. Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Positive attitude and a proactive work ethic. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A collaborative team player who can leverage additional resources effectively. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload effectively. Capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects with high attention to detail. Strong problem-solving abilities. Proficient in negotiating and sourcing commodities. Intermediate computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Committed to quality and customer satisfaction. Outstanding project management and planning capabilities. Professional demeanor with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly. Preferred Skills: Degree focusing on inventory and purchasing/materials management. Experience with MRP-based software systems. Familiarity with APICS standards. Understanding of Inventory Management practices. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. Working Conditions/Physical Demands: This role involves extended periods of sitting and requires coordinated finger movements for data entry. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work is primarily in an office environment. May require local travel to other company locations. Availability during non-standard business hours may be necessary to coordinate with global teams.
