Compassionate LPN for Urgent Care

Join Baptist Health Urgent Care as a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse! OVERVIEW: We are seeking skilled LPNs to provide excellent patient care and support in our vibrant team environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties outline the essential functions of this role but are not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned. Greet and prepare patients for their examination or procedure. Record health histories and alert physicians about any abnormal conditions. Guide patients in the collection of necessary samples and tests. Obtain vital signs and escort patients to examination rooms. Assist physicians during treatments, examinations, and procedures. Administer injections and prescribed medications as directed. Observe, document, and report patient conditions and reactions to treatments. Ensure timely and accurate entries in patient charts and maintain records. Assist with the scheduling of tests and referrals to specialists. Collect and deliver lab specimens, and notify patients of test results. Restock and clean exam/treatment rooms between patients. Follow clinic policies on infection control and waste disposal. Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, and discharge plans. Support the provider during physical exams and evaluations. Manage prescription orders in coordination with pharmacies. Maintain accurate inventory of medications and monitor controlled substances. Respond to and screen telephone calls for appropriate referrals. SCHEDULE: Our full-time staff works a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week with 12-hour shifts during weekdays, along with every other weekend. PRN (per diem) staff are scheduled as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: • Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is essential. • A minimum of two years' experience in a hospital or clinic is preferred. • Must hold a valid License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse as per state requirements.
