Position Purpose: As a vital part of the nation's food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure that products reach customers timely and in excellent condition. They represent our company by building lasting relationships with clients! The CDL-A Driver drives a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver food and related products safely and on time, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries. Work collaboratively within the team and perform any necessary duties to support the company. Conduct all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) for the tractor/truck and trailer as mandated by DOT regulations; perform inspections to ensure equipment meets safety standards and address any issues promptly. Report safety hazards and required repairs immediately. Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company driving policies regarding safety practices. Inspect the trailer to ensure freight is loaded and secured correctly. Perform inventory counts of loaded items and verify customer invoices. Complete necessary paperwork accurately and legibly associated with freight. Transport tractor to the loading dock and attach a preloaded trailer as necessary. Deliver customer orders by following predetermined delivery routes. Unload products and transport them to designated customer storage areas. Conduct damage control checks, scan items, and notify supervisors about removing any orders per company policy. Confirm delivery with customers, obtaining required signatures. Collect payments (cash or checks) where applicable, and secure returned items in the trailer. Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked and protected. Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete required paperwork. Clear all trash and equipment from trailers as necessary. Maintain a daily record of service hours and log them according to Federal DOT, state, and company mandates. Keep the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers in a clean and orderly condition. At the end of each shift, secure all equipment and finalize paperwork. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 12+ months of commercial driving experience. Valid CDL-A license. Must be at least 21 years of age. Meet all state licensing and certification requirements. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years. Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check. Pass a road test. Hold a valid DOT Health Card or be able to secure one. Able to hand-lift and use equipment to move or stack product cases / freight weighing between 10-35 pounds, with some items possibly reaching 60-90 pounds.
