In our Vetco Total Care Full Service Veterinary Hospitals, the veterinarian role is vital to our mission. Our veterinarians are committed to providing exceptional veterinary care, supported by state-of-the-art equipment and an outstanding team. As a vital team member, you will: Deliver outstanding patient care through comprehensive examinations, accurate diagnoses, and preventive strategies tailored to each pet's needs. Utilize a problem-solving approach to develop inclusive treatment plans, ensuring clear diagnostic strategies and effective treatments. Document all patient interactions, clinical findings, and treatment plans meticulously in our medical records. Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and mass removals. Conduct thorough dental procedures, from examinations to extractions, ensuring optimal dental health. Prepare treatment plans for hospitalized patients and coordinate care with referral hospitals for seamless patient management. Additional Responsibilities: Engage in team rounds at the beginning and end of your shifts. Share your expertise with the team to elevate the standard of care and communication within the hospital. Assist with other assigned responsibilities as needed. Supervision: You will operate under the guidance of the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director. While you’ll have the autonomy to make clinical decisions, it's vital to adhere to the standards set in the Petco Veterinary SOPs. Impact: This role is crucial in fostering a productive practice while upholding high-quality care. Your contributions will help create a cohesive, knowledgeable team, enhancing employee satisfaction, patient health, and customer experience. Qualifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school. Valid veterinarian license for the state where the hospital operates. Current DEA License and Controlled Substance License, if applicable. USDA Category I Accreditation or commitment to achieve it within two months of hire. Comfortable with anesthesia and performing routine surgeries, including spays, neuters, and dental work. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Compassionate demeanor, maintaining professionalism in challenging situations. Proficiency with computer systems and technology. A collaborative team player enthusiastic about learning and adapting to new practices. Work Environment: This role primarily operates within our Vetco Total Care veterinary full-service hospital. You will interact closely with clients and their pets, involving physical activities such as bending, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and prolonged standing. Contacts: Your role includes regular communication with clients, veterinary specialists, and product/service providers used in our practice.
