Controls Technician - Job Summary: The Controls Technician will be pivotal in troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing the performance of PLC and PC-based automation systems. You will utilize building management system tools and equipment to drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Exhibit the ability to troubleshoot and design PLC logic, operator interface terminals, energy management systems, and electrical installations. Statistically analyze and enhance automated system performance metrics at both macro and micro levels. Perform preventive maintenance on control systems and oversee electrical/control parts inventory. Maintain precise record-keeping and manage parts procedures and inventory control. Required Qualifications: PLC Skills: Proficient in RS Logix 500 and RS Logix 5000 instruction sets, with intermediate skills in logic writing. Familiarity with PLC hardware is preferred. Fieldbus Network Skills: Knowledge in the design and implementation (hardware and software). Working knowledge of instrumentation configuration, intermediate understanding of electrical circuits, and basic electrical components used in automation systems. Able to utilize process meters and operate oscilloscopes effectively. Capable of assembling electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and modifying existing manufacturing equipment. Connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for various applications, including climate control and security. Understand 3-phase distribution and 3-phase power transmission. Familiarity with energy management (BMS) software and hardware. Proficient in Word and Excel – testing required.
