Senior Consultant, Network Infrastructure Engineering

The Network OS organization is at the forefront of designing and delivering control-plane systems, distributed services, and network intelligence that enhance OCI's virtual networking, backbone routing, and traffic engineering platforms. As a Senior Consultant, you will have the opportunity to shape and own the architecture of software that operates on critical network infrastructure such as routers and switches. Your expertise will be key in driving cloud-scale reliability, performance, and adaptability across hardware and software in expansive production environments. Your Responsibilities: Lead the technical architecture of infrastructure software on network devices. Define architectural contracts, APIs, and failure boundaries across teams. Conduct design reviews, large-scale failure analyses, and production readiness initiatives. Perform performance analysis and optimizations utilizing advanced telemetry and diagnostics. Offer technical leadership and mentorship across diverse teams. Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of systems software engineering experience focusing on cloud infrastructure, networking, or distributed systems. Expertise in systems software and large-scale networked infrastructure. Experience with a Network Operating System (e.g., SONiC or similar). In-depth knowledge of Linux internals, concurrency, memory management, and IPC. Strong understanding of routing, switching, and control/data plane separation. Proven history of operating highly reliable software in production network environments. Ability to effectively influence collaterally among engineering, operations, and hardware or vendor teams.
