Senior Transportation Engineer

Are you ready to pave the way to your future? We are looking for an experienced Senior Transportation Engineer to support our Mid Atlantic Region located in Springfield or Virginia Beach, VA. Join us in making a difference in our communities! Your Role: Develop and calculate project design plans, engineering estimates, and specifications while collaborating closely with subconsultants. Lead the design of projects and mentor Junior Engineers and designers to ensure successful execution aligned with client-focused strategies. Utilize established engineering techniques and standards to deliver results. Prepare and modify reports, construction schedules, plans, and designs for various projects. Contribute to teamwork by participating in business development efforts and client meetings. Help foster team concepts, programs, and policies while ensuring best practices are followed. Attend team meetings and communicate progress of projects. Analyze data thoroughly, recognizing discrepancies and deriving conclusions. Apply standard practices to accomplish your assignments efficiently. Manage assigned tasks and schedules to meet budgets and timelines, ensuring project completion. Ensure adherence to company standards for quality assurance and control. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in roadway design. Demonstrated ability to meet DOT expectations, schedules, and budgets. VDOT experience is a plus but not mandatory. Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred, Engineer in Training (FE) required. Proficient in DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications. Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening; adherence to safety regulations is crucial. A valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) are necessary. Why Join Our Team?
