The Role As a Senior Information Security Engineer with a focus on AI, you will be integral in designing and enhancing Lumen's AI security program. This role will emphasize developing secure AI technologies that protect our organization while ensuring responsible deployment on an enterprise scale. You will act as a technical authority, collaborating with various teams to set guiding principles and ensure alignment across security domains. Main Responsibilities AI Security Strategy Engineer and maintain robust AI security controls, ensuring comprehensive protection of AI/ML systems, including software components and data flows. Develop integrations for continuous discovery, inventory tracking, and policy enforcement within AI environments. Align AI security capabilities with Responsible AI and data governance policies, focusing on auditability. Capability Development Design and guide the creation of advanced threat detection capabilities for AI, tackling challenges like data poisoning and model misuse. Build solutions for detecting deepfakes and synthetic media across various formats to combat fraud and social engineering risks. Establish secure frameworks for AI security assistants to help operational teams with threat interpretation and automated guidance. Design AI-powered agents capable of executing security tasks with the assurance of proper governance and human oversight. Facilitate AI-driven security automation, including prioritization and risk scoring. Governance and Leadership Serve as a senior advisor on AI governance and acceptable use, collaborating with architecture teams to embed security into development pipelines. Engage with offensive security teams to align adversarial testing with AI security frameworks. Provide executive-level reports on AI security posture and upcoming risks. What We Look For in a Candidate Required Technical Expertise: AI & ML Security In-depth understanding of AI/ML systems and their specific threats. Experience securing AI technologies in enterprise settings. Security Engineering Proven success in implementing enterprise security solutions across diverse environments. Strong knowledge of vulnerability management and risk prioritization. General Requirements: 15+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on advanced threat domains. Demonstrated leadership in influencing security standards and strategy. A solid understanding of Responsible AI and data governance principles. Exceptional communication skills for conveying complex security concepts clearly. Experience with large-scale enterprise operations in cloud and DevOps environments. Compensation This position offers a competitive salary range based on location and experience. Compensation may vary by state, with individual pay influenced by skills and background. Location Based Pay Ranges: Ranges typically fall between $149,084 - $198,779 in several states, and may reach up to $218,657 in states including CA, NY, and TX.
