Agency Adult Correction Division COO - OPS - Institutions Operations Job Classification Title Correctional Case Manager (S) Position Number 65005325 Grade NC07 About Us The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Description of Work This job posting will close at 11:59 pm, the night before the end date listed above. Salary Rangs: $37,377 - $65,408 Reporting to the Correctional Programs Supervisor this position is responsible for carrying a caseload of offenders, which involves supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answer and following up on offender questions and problems. Job responsibilities include; but are limited to, the following: -Providing recommendations to the classification committee. -Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordination major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education, or recreation. -Planning and coordination transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences -Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques. Necessary Special Qualifications: MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission. This is a RE-POST of position 65005325. Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is NC07. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase May result. About Tabor Correctional Institution: Tabor Correctional Institution is located in Tabor City, North Carolina and houses up to 1,752 male offenders in a close, medium, and minimum custody facility. Minimum Education and Experience Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution Or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of custody experience within the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
