Posting Details Posting Details Posting Number: Stu001780 Posting Type: Student - Open to All Current ONU Students Job Title: Student Employment - House Manager Position Type: Student Department: Freed Center Operations Job Summary: Under supervision of the Director of the Freed Center, the House Manager is responsible for guiding and training peer students for all front-of-house activities during events at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts and ensuring that the experience of each patron is enjoyable and safe. The House Manager is expected to have a high degree of professional behavior and accuracy. Principal Responsibilities - Assist with management and supervision of peer students - Provide training to peer students in proper customer service practices, policy and procedure, and usage of the CRM technology resources utilized by the Freed Center - Manage shift scheduling, trades, and assignments for student employment positions - Coordinate volunteer schedules and produce reports for service hour confirmation - Prepare spaces for performances and events including, but not limited to, destributing programs, accessible seating arrangements and readiness of front of house facilities - Coordinate with backstage personnel to open theatre space, begin performance and monitor intermission length. - Enforce published policies (e.g., no food or drink in theatre spaces, no photography or audio/video recording, assisting latecomers, etc.) - Guide patrons to exits and provide instruction and assistance in case of emergency - Resolve issues with seating, ticketing or patron concerns - Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules - Perform assigned building checks to proactively identify maintenance and custodial issues - Train and supervise ushers and volunteer staff as needed - Produce accurate and detailed house reports - Develop relationship/rapport with patrons and constituents including alumni, parents, current students, faculty, staff and friends of the University - Complete other duties as assigned Required Skills: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to handle private and confidential material and information - Ability to problem solve - Strong leadership abilities and demonstrated success working in a team environment - Basic math/banking skills are essential; must be able to calculate figures and amountsand apply basic algebra skills - Exceptional computer skills including the ability to learn and utilize new software - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and to effectively present information to various audiences - Punctuality - Strong customer service skills - Willingness to be CPR/AED/First Aid Certified and participate in Public Safety training Minimum Qualifications: - Ability to represent the University and the Freed Center in a positive manner - An interest in the performing arts is preferred - Must be enrolled as an ONU student - Good academic standing - Preference given to Arts Administration minors and current Freed Center employees EEO Statement ONU is an equal employment opportunity employer.
