job summary: A Hardware Test Engineer for a medical devices and equipment manufacturing company is needed in the Weston, FL area. This job oversees the entire verification and validation lifecycle of electronic hardware by designing test strategies, troubleshooting failures, and implementing automation to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards. location: Weston, Florida job type: Contract salary: $54 - 61 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for PCB assemblies, subsystems, and finished products. Design, build, and maintain hardware test setups, specialized fixtures, and equipment. Conduct functional, electrical, performance, stress, and environmental testing. Perform debugging and troubleshooting of failures at the component, board, and system levels. Review schematics and layouts with design engineers to ensure testability and reliability. Create automated test scripts and tools to increase efficiency and repeatability. Document all test procedures, results, failure analyses, and corrective actions. Support Design Verification (DVT), Production Validation (PVT), and manufacturing bring-up. Assist with regulatory and compliance testing, including EMC/EMI, ESD, thermal, and safety. Provide design recommendations to improve robustness and manufacturability. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic hardware testing. Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits, power systems, and embedded hardware. Proficiency using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators. Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and technical datasheets. Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and root-cause analysis. strong skills in technical documentation and communication. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: Experience with test automation using Python or Shell/Command-line scripting. Familiarity with embedded systems and communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, and USB. Experience in manufacturing test development and production support. Knowledge of reliability testing, environmental testing, and failure analysis methods.
