Mechanical Estimating Specialist

Key Responsibilities: Manage the mechanical bid process, encompassing general conditions, HVAC, process piping and ducting, millwrighting, and structural steel. Perform cost comparisons and analyses to ensure competitive pricing. Build and nurture relationships with trustworthy trade contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Accurately estimate costs for all mechanical plans, including detailed quantity take-offs. Create schedules and determine task durations to ensure project timelines are met. Stay updated on innovative construction methods and market trends. Establish and monitor budgets for all construction phases to maintain financial integrity. Identify and propose cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures. Monitor and assess plan changes, providing accurate estimates for all modifications. Manage subcontractor solicitations as needed, ensuring competitive bids. Draft comprehensive scopes of work for subcontractors to clarify responsibilities. Interpret and analyze contract drawings and specifications with precision. Leverage knowledge of industry competitive advantages to strengthen the bidding process. Assist in preparing submittals and coordinate with project managers during the pre-construction phase. Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction is preferred. Willingness to travel to job sites as necessary. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends if required. Proficient in reading blueprints and plans.
