You'll own everything from sold job to completed install across a 100-mile territory (Baldwin County to Pensacola to Destin/Miramar Beach and everywhere in between). This role reports directly to the General Manager with clear metrics, real bonus tied to real results, and a growth path to Director of Operations as we scale. You'll create and manage work orders from sale through completion, order all materials accurately and on time, and coordinate with suppliers to prevent delays. You will prep jobs for kickoff by verifying scope, materials, and installer readiness, and kick off larger or more complex jobs on-site as needed. You are responsible for managing job costing to ensure projects stay within or exceed margin targets. Your role is to deliver the installation to the level of expectation set in the sale of the project, every single time.Installer and Crew Management: You are the primary point of contact for all installation crews. You'll resolve installer issues including scheduling conflicts, quality concerns, and performance problems. You hold crews accountable to quality standards and timelines. You'll grade and evaluate installer quality, reliability, and speed so you know which crews get the high-value jobs and which ones need development. You're also responsible for recruiting and developing new crew relationships before capacity becomes a bottleneck.Customer Issue Resolution: You will field and resolve 90% or more of customer issues without escalating them to the General Manager. You own the customer experience from point of sale through project completion and warranty follow-up. You proactively communicate with customers on scheduling, delays, and any changes to scope. When you see patterns in callbacks or complaints, you fix the root cause, not just the symptom.Margin Ownership: You own gross margin at the job level. You track and report margin performance and flag jobs that are going sideways before they're completed, not after. Job costing reports are completed within 24 hours of every installation. You find efficiencies in materials, crew scheduling, and installation time that improve what we actually deliver versus what was sold. You build vendor relationships that improve our pricing and priority treatment as volume grows.Sales Team Support: You'll assist the sales team with installer pricing questions on unique or complex jobs and provide production input during the sales process when needed to set accurate customer expectations.Warehouse and Logistics: You keep the warehouse organized, stocked, and functional. You manage material inventory and returns.Systems and Process Improvement: You build and document repeatable production processes so the operation does not depend on any single person. You identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implement solutions without being asked. You track and report on key production metrics including schedule adherence, margin, customer satisfaction, crew utilization, and callback rate. If the measurement system doesn't exist yet, you build it.Who You AreYou have 3 or more years managing field crews, installers, or production teams in home services, construction, or a franchise environment. Flooring industry experience is strongly preferred but not required if you bring the right operational mindset from a related trade. You are a systems thinker who builds processes, not just follows them. You solve problems before they reach anyone else's desk and you take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks. You communicate well whether you're talking to ownership, the sales team, installation crews, or customers. You're comfortable managing a service territory that spans over 100 miles. You're detail-oriented on job costing and scheduling but you don't lose sight of the big picture. You don't need to be told what to do. You figure it out and then tell us what you did. Military veterans with operations, logistics, or supply chain backgrounds are encouraged to apply. What Success Looks LikeIn your first 30 days you will learn every active job, every installer, and every open issue. You'll shadow the current workflow and identify the top 3 process gaps. You'll take over day-to-day scheduling and material ordering and begin building baseline metrics for margin, callback rate, and crew utilization.By 90 days you will own 100% of production operations with minimal involvement from the GM. You'll be resolving 90% or more of customer issues without escalation. You'll have tracking systems in place for key production metrics and you'll present an improvement plan to the GM based on what the data from your first 90 days is telling you.By the end of your first year, production systems are documented and repeatable. You've identified when a Production Assistant is needed and helped define and hire for that role. Realized margin consistently beats sold margin and callback rate is tracked and trending down.More About Us:Floor Coverings International® of West Florida Panhandle and South Alabama is locally and veteran owned.
