We're inviting applications for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join one of our driven teams within the Platform Product Group. This group is dedicated to creating a reliable, scalable, and compliant platform that maximizes velocity, efficiency, and quality to ensure a uniform and top-notch user experience across Coinbase’s products. About the team: The Risk engineering team plays a pivotal role in managing financial threats to both the business and our users. By joining us, you will contribute to building powerful platforms and essential services to combat fraudulent activities on a large scale while enhancing our capability to detect genuine user patterns. Your key responsibilities will include: Designing and implementing state-of-the-art core Risk platform architecture to support Coinbase's initiatives. Collaborating with numerous stakeholders across various organizations involved in building Coinbase products or managing financial operations. Contributing to the strategic development and execution of the Risk platform. Overseeing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables by leveraging your technical expertise. Mentoring and guiding team members on design techniques and coding standards. Writing high-quality, thoroughly tested code that meets the needs of our customers. What we seek in you: 10+ years of experience in backend software development using Golang or similar programming languages. A proven history of delivering impactful solutions that support crucial risk management processes. Experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency production services. Expertise in architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems that have significant implications. Strong technical knowledge of building distributed systems capable of processing massive amounts of data. Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds. A relentless drive to set ambitious goals and a commitment to achieving them. A passion for developing an open financial system that unites the world. Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in Risk Engineering. Experience working with Machine Learning models to scale risk use cases effectively. Experience with both startups and large enterprises. Job ID: P68521 Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this position may range from $253,895 to $298,700 USD, depending on your work location. Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
