This opportunity is available nationwide in the U.S., and we are looking for the most qualified candidates to join our team, ideally those with experience in the Data Center market. As a Senior Telecommunications Design Engineer, you will engage in various projects as assigned by your Department Manager or Lead Engineer, contributing to the complete design process, including: Preliminary assessments Concept creation Problem resolution with internal and external stakeholders Production of drawings and specifications Ensuring accessibility for customers and vendors Assuming the role of Engineer of Record for designs Providing coverage for Project Leads Leading projects, as bandwidth allows You will be involved in multiple concurrent projects and make sure their successful completion on schedule is achieved. Your technical design leadership will focus on systems for data center buildings, such as structured cabling systems, wireless networks, audio-visual installations, and other low-voltage systems. A key aspect of your role will be mentoring junior team members and guiding them through the design process, which includes: Leading BIM designers in the preparation of engineering drawings Creating or modifying Division 27 specifications Conducting site visits to gather information for designs Reviewing technical documents for accuracy and compliance Learning from senior team leaders and being actively mentored Managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders Signing and sealing telecommunications design packages Identifying and implementing processes for improved efficiency To thrive in this position, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering from an ABET accredited institution A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems Comprehensive knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards Familiarity with NFPA 70 as it relates to telecommunications cabling Proficiency using Bluebeam and solid project management skills Self-motivation to work effectively with project managers and clients Experience with RFP responses and providing quality assurance for telecommunications systems Experience in the start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems Skills in project budgeting and maintaining schedules A Professional Engineer (PE) license, with the capacity to obtain more PE licenses Ideally, you will also have: 4 years of telecommunications design experience specifically in Data Centers Experience with additional low-voltage systems, including Security, Audio/Visual, and Wireless Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software A strong understanding of telecom infrastructure for control systems and security systems Familiarity with CSI or AIA specification writing procedures RCDD credentials would be a plus Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
