Position Summary The Director of Scientific Engagement & Professional Societies - Nephrology will spearhead Travere's strategic engagement with professional societies, guideline bodies, scientific advisory councils, and aligned organizations. This role transcends conventional relationship management by fostering collaborative initiatives that advance shared scientific and healthcare system priorities—such as implementation science, disease education, and programs like Glomerular Centers of Excellence—while aligning with Travere's medical strategy and long-term disease leadership objectives. You will serve as the strategic architect for nephrology society engagement and function as a key connector across Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Government Affairs, and Commercial teams. Key Responsibilities: Professional Society & Scientific Body Strategy Design and execute a multi-year engagement strategy with key nephrology organizations. Act as the primary Medical Affairs contact for professional societies and their advisory councils. Broaden engagement efforts beyond sponsorships and annual congresses to foster sustainable, strategic collaborations. Map leadership structures and advisory panels to identify and leverage influence pathways. Guideline & Evidence Alignment Lead engagement strategies with guideline committees and decision-makers. Collaborate with Clinical Development and Scientific Communications to synchronize evidence generation with guideline cycles. Monitor and influence scientific policy statements and consensus documents. Ensure internal readiness for external input requests from journals or guideline bodies. Strategic Scientific Initiatives & Collaborative Projects Ensure that educational initiatives align with Travere's disease-state strategy in a compliant manner. Lead high-impact scientific engagements with professional associations, providing expertise and strategic direction. Identify and develop joint initiatives with professional societies that align with overarching priorities. Evaluate long-term opportunities positioning Travere as a thought leader in science. Policy & Patient Advocacy Alignment Work closely with Government Affairs to monitor the evolving nephrology policy landscape and identify collaborative opportunities. Collaborate with Patient Advocacy to ensure alignment with patient-led initiatives. Facilitate alignment across Medical, Advocacy, and Government Affairs for shared initiatives. Measurement & Strategic Governance Define key performance indicators to measure impact beyond sponsorship metrics. Provide strategic updates and recommendations to leadership. Establish governance processes for compliant cross-functional society engagement. Qualifications: Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD). 6+ years of Medical Affairs experience in biopharma, preferably in nephrology or rare disease. Experience engaging with professional societies and guideline bodies. Proven ability to build partnerships beyond transactional engagements. Strong leadership skills across diverse functions, including Advocacy and Government Affairs. Strategic thinker capable of identifying opportunities and implementing structured initiatives. Additional Skills/Experience: Ability to influence key stakeholders and improve patient care outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation and interpersonal capabilities. Exceptional organizational skills, adept at prioritizing and executing objectives on time and within budget. Commitment to ethical standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. Adaptable, resourceful, and able to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment. Willingness to travel up to 40% to important events and manage a demanding schedule. Compensation: Our competitive package includes cash compensation and long-term incentives designed to recognize and reward employees. Target Base Pay Range: $189,000.00 - $246,000.00 This information is current and subject to change. Actual pay will depend on various factors including experience and location.
