Are you looking to make a meaningful impact during one of life's most significant moments? As a No One Dies Alone (NODA) Volunteer with CorsoCare, you will offer comfort and companionship to patients in their final moments, ensuring they do not face the end of life alone. What You'll Do Offer a supportive and calming presence beside the bedside of patients who may be unconscious or unresponsive. Engage in gentle conversation, read aloud, play soft music, or provide comforting touch to enhance patient comfort. Support the grieving families by providing reassurance and compassion during difficult times. Facilitate life review sessions when possible, assisting patients in sharing memories and reflecting on their life experiences. How NODA Volunteering Works You will be notified of volunteering opportunities based on patient needs, which may not follow a set schedule. When a need arises, you may volunteer for 1-3 hours as your availability allows, with no obligation to respond if you cannot. We encourage maintaining a consistent schedule as a Companionship Volunteer while being on call for NODA requests. Why Volunteer Make a profound impact in the lives of patients during their final moments. Enjoy flexible scheduling options tailored to your availability. Gain valuable experience in healthcare, social work, or hospice care. Requirements Demonstrate compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to offer a calm, supportive presence. Complete our volunteer training program successfully. Pass a background check and TB test. For NODA specifically, you must have at least one month (or 4 visits) of experience as a Companionship Volunteer unless you possess prior hospice experience. Help ensure dignity, comfort, and companionship are provided when it matters most - let no one die alone.
