Overview GovCIO is on the lookout for a talented Senior Network Security Engineer to be a part of our dynamic team supporting the US Courts. This pivotal role focuses on enhancing our security infrastructure in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage advanced firewall and web security proxy solutions to ensure secure and efficient network operations across diverse data centers and field locations. Leverage Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall solutions to create and maintain robust security policies, NAT configurations, VPNs, threat prevention mechanisms, URL filtering, and decryption functionalities. Maintain and optimize Cisco routing and switching infrastructure in both LAN and WAN settings to bolster overall network performance. Develop and uphold secure network architectures that incorporate firewalls, web proxies, VPNs, and access control technologies. Deploy, configure, and support McAfee Web Security Proxy solutions to enforce critical web filtering and malware protection strategies. Integrate firewall and proxy solutions with various authentication systems such as Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, and TACACS+. Actively monitor security platforms to identify threats, performance discrepancies, and policy breaches. Evaluate logs and alerts to detect security incidents, implementing effective strategies for mitigation. Conduct thorough configuration reviews, optimizing rulebases and ensuring robust security hardening across all systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in network engineering or equivalent expertise. A minimum of 5 years in IT or network security roles. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with firewalls and security platforms, routers, and switches. Exceptional proficiency with: Palo Alto Networks firewalls Cisco routers and switches McAfee Web Security Proxy / Web Gateway Comprehensive understanding of: TCP/IP, routing, and switching protocols IPsec and SSL VPNs DNS, DHCP, NTP services ACLs, NAT, QoS mechanisms Experience with access control technologies such as RADIUS, TACACS+, Active Directory, and LDAP.
