Join Our Team as a Lead IT Architect! Are you excited about driving technical projects and crafting innovative architectures? We are on the lookout for a talented Lead IT Architect to become a vital part of our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a key role in steering our technical initiatives and working collaboratively with various teams to strengthen our infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Design and sustain comprehensive architecture documentation. Collaborate across teams to establish essential infrastructure and tools. Research and evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices for potential integration. Communicate the effects of design choices to leadership effectively. Initiate, plan, and manage technical projects while ensuring thorough documentation. Lead and mentor technical staff, connecting business objectives with technical solutions. Create and manage high-quality project documentation and executive presentations. Develop and maintain project timelines efficiently. Facilitate troubleshooting sessions to identify and rectify issues. Ensure project deliverables align with client standards. Take direct charge of developing and deploying application components utilizing tools like Databricks and SQL. Support high-level architecture design, delivering resilient and scalable solutions. This position is remote within the US, with an ideal candidate located near Lanham MD, Farmers Branch TX, or Austin TX, and may require occasional meetings at IRS facilities. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in a relevant role. At least 4 years of experience leading a technical team in production settings. 10 years of hands-on experience with databases and ETL applications. 2 years of experience with IRS systems and data. Expertise in cloud technologies and migration strategies. Knowledge of implementation for AWS, Java, Python, and database systems like Oracle and Databricks. Experience in optimizing performance in data pipelines. Strong problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated experience in architectural design and development. Preferred Skills: Experience building data pipelines on AWS and Databricks. Proficiency with AWS DMS and CLI tools. Practical experience in data migration and manipulation. Strong programming skills in Python within Linux environments. Familiarity with SQL tuning techniques. Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Prior development experience with containerization technologies. Additional Requirements: Must comply with IRS Minimum Background Investigation clearance requirements. U.S. Citizenship or legal permanent resident status for at least three years. Must be compliant with Federal Tax requirements.
