The starting base salary for this role is projected to be between $75,000 and $110,000 annually, with variations based on factors such as skills, experience, and location. Position Overview As a key member of our Project Engineering team, the Engineering Project Specialist will support the Filtration Engineering group to ensure the efficient and profitable execution of customer projects. This role encompasses various responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle while adhering to GEA standards and customer specifications. You will handle a diverse range of projects involving advanced technologies in beverage, dairy, and innovative food applications, potentially serving as Project Manager for select assignments. Key Responsibilities Engage in all phases of projects, from initial customer interactions and pre-award assistance to cost estimation, proposal formulation, engineering, and project initiation. Act as the technical lead for assigned project sections, devising equipment and engineering solutions that align with customer needs and budgetary limits. Implement engineering standards and optimize designs to comply with customer needs while managing project expenditures. Proactively identify risks—technical, scheduling, and commercial—and execute measures to meet project commitments. Keep accurate documentation of customer communications and maintain organized project files. Work with designers to develop necessary drawings and layouts to guide project implementation. Compile and manage utility lists, equipment specifications, and component details. Prepare technical specifications and collaborate in design reviews. Oversee design changes and ensure releases of specifications and drawings are timely. Coordinate shipping of equipment to client locations in partnership with the logistics team. Assist in installation, including final punch-list closeouts. Conduct I/O checks and mechanical checks of installed equipment at customer sites. Support commissioning and start-up processes, including training for operation and maintenance staff. Adhere to GEA engineering standards and ensure compliance with regulations throughout all project phases. Utilize GEA tools and templates effectively across all project stages. Contribute technical insights in project planning and execution, ensuring efficient schedules and resource management. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones. Provide technical assistance for troubleshooting system performance and process challenges. Support the preparation of O&M manuals and spare parts documentation. Develop project schedules that align with defined goals. Deliver presentations regarding technical aspects or project updates to stakeholders as necessary. Undertake additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the food, dairy, or beverage sector is preferred. Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
