Join our dynamic team as a Senior Physician Advisor! In this vital role, you will leverage your medical expertise to review and assess clinical cases, ensuring the highest quality of care and compliance with medical standards. Key Responsibilities: Access a secure portal to retrieve clinical cases and thoroughly review patient records, histories, diagnoses, current symptoms, and requested treatments. Research relevant patient information to develop a complete clinical perspective for accurate treatment evaluations. Utilize evidence-based state guidelines to assess treatment requests, identifying appropriate circumstances for medical necessity. In the absence of applicable state guidelines, research peer-reviewed literature to support informed decisions regarding treatment appropriateness. Prepare comprehensive case rationales articulating the clinical question, summarizing relevant guidelines, analyzing case details, and determining medical necessity. Serve as the primary clinical liaison to clients and lead the medical review process. Conduct reviews of pre-employment and incumbent medical examinations for suitability. Evaluate medical consultation requests, providing authoritative recommendations and determinations. Ensure quality control in medical ratings, focusing on consistency, accuracy, and adherence to established medical standards. Interpret and apply relevant medical standards and physical requirements for law enforcement capacities. Lead and mentor additional reviewing physicians, fostering a collaborative clinical environment. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in the medical field. Active MD or DO license with an impeccable professional history. Current board certification in Occupational or Internal Medicine, or extensive experience performing medical suitability assessments for law enforcement roles. A minimum of 5 years of experience in reviewing medical qualifications in occupational medicine. In-depth knowledge of medical guidelines pertaining to government law enforcement standards and occupational requirements.
