Senior Security Engineer - Cloud and AI

Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated security engineer with a deep expertise in Cloud and AI security to join our dynamic Security Architecture team. Our goal is to ensure Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) products and services are secure from the ground up. This role involves engaging with partner engineering teams, shaping security initiatives, and maintaining high standards of security across OCI. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will participate in architecture, design, prototyping, and development phases of cloud security implementations. Your leadership will help define security requirements and ensure that future capabilities are built on a robust security framework. You will collaborate closely with architects and development teams to communicate complex security requirements effectively. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and risk assessments to mitigate identified issues. Create and update technical security standards, setting benchmarks for AI security requirements at OCI. Keep abreast of the latest AI advancements, leveraging them to enhance OCI's security posture. Provide expert security advice to service teams, ensuring that all products and services are secure by default. Lead OCI-wide cloud security initiatives to bolster overall security measures. Mentor junior engineers in security best practices and principles. Qualifications: 8+ years of experience with at least 5 years focused on Cloud Security and 2 years in AI/ML preferred. BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering with a focus on AI/Security, or a related field is required. Proven experience in the architecture, design, and deployment of security practices and policies. Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in AI, machine learning, and deep learning principles. Experience implementing AI technologies in security contexts. Leadership experience in cloud security for products or services, especially in IaaS and PaaS environments. Security review experience for cloud-environment products reliant on LLMs and APIs. Knowledge of multi-tenancy, cloud security, virtualization, and identity management. Expertise in encryption, key management, compliance with security standards, and cybersecurity fundamentals. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless computing, and scalable system design. Experience with network security, VPNs, firewalls, and software-defined networking is a plus. Experience in a security assurance role supporting assessment programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Location: All candidates must be able to work from either Nashville, TN or Austin, TX. The salary range for this position is $120,100 to $251,600 per annum, with potential for bonuses, equity, and compensation deferral.
