Associate Actuary for Pricing Strategy

The Associate Actuary for Pricing Strategy will be instrumental in determining pricing assumptions, submitting bids, and ensuring premium rates are filed and approved by regulatory agencies. This crucial position will support the implementation of new rates, plans, and benefit modifications while providing valuable insights to Product Development on cost impacts related to new products and benefits. In this role, you will establish financial metrics aligned with segment profitability goals, analyze market-level results, and recommend strategic pricing actions to address any gaps. Utilizing market projections and experience data tools, you will investigate root causes and derive key insights. Understanding competitors and collaborating with sales and other partners will be essential for developing strategies that foster profitable membership growth. Moreover, you will ensure actuarial certifications for rate filings are met, confirming compliance with regulatory standards. As you advance in this role, you will have the opportunity to influence departmental strategy and make informed decisions on technical approaches for various project components. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation MAAA certification Exceptional communication skills Genuine enthusiasm for enhancing consumer experiences Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the health insurance industry Familiarity with Medicare Advantage While this is a remote role, occasional travel to Humana's offices may be necessary for meetings or training. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Salary Range: The estimated starting salary for full-time employment is $106,900 - $147,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location and individual skills and experience. This position also qualifies for a bonus incentive plan based on individual and company performance.
