Senior Network Solutions Engineer

As a Senior Network Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, analyzing, planning, and enhancing critical network components that support our customer communication initiatives. This position involves addressing complex issues with a thorough analysis of data and situational contexts. Your Role and Responsibilities: In this important position, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating innovative remote site solutions for Humana and its subsidiaries. Your key responsibilities will include: Analyzing both short- and long-term capacity requirements across switching, routing, transmission, and signaling. Conducting SDWAN network design and testing, along with feasibility and cost assessments. Creating standard solutions and establishing the necessary sequence of network activities. Evaluating site growth and expansion to understand the impact on remote services. Actively participating in departmental strategy and making decisions on complex technical issues. Managing on-call duties and implementation activities, including nights and weekends as needed. Ensuring best-in-class multi-platform network connectivity and infrastructure. Areas of Focus: Expertise in network engineering and implementation supporting a variety of software-defined network technologies. Oversight of administration, configuration, and monitoring of network equipment and cloud resources. Development of hybrid cloud connectivity solutions. Technical integration involving WAN circuit topology and carrier interactions. Your Engineering Responsibilities Will Include: Designing and deploying complex solutions across multiple SD-WAN and wireless platforms. Building and maintaining robust authentication policies. Integrating security solutions with existing infrastructure. Participating in large-scale project lifecycles to guarantee high-quality deliveries. Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of rigorous documentation. Collaborating with internal and external teams to develop effective technical solutions. Documenting network infrastructure and business processes diligently. Required Qualifications: BS/BA in a technical or scientific field, or equivalent industry experience with relevant certifications. 4+ years of experience in SDWAN architecture design and implementation. Network engineering certifications such as CCNP or Fortinet NSE. Extensive experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures. Experience with BGP and other WAN technologies. Strong capabilities in managing large-scale environments. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code. Proficiency in programming/scripting for automation purposes. Familiarity with public cloud service offerings and cloud network security technologies. Work-At-Home Requirements: High-speed DSL or cable modem for home office set-up. A minimum internet speed of 25x10 is required. A dedicated workspace providing necessary privacy for sensitive information. This is a remote position, but occasional travel to Humana's offices may be required for training or meetings.
