Join our compassionate team and prioritize health The Lead Business Intelligence Specialist will be instrumental in constructing, stabilizing, and governing the Finance data and automation platform that serves as the backbone for financial reporting and analytics at CenterWell. This position is remote, with a requirement to operate within Eastern Standard Time or Central Standard Time. In this role, you will spearhead the design, development, and management of scalable Finance data pipelines in collaboration with the Finance Transformation Office. You will utilize curated datasets across Snowflake and Databricks, employing advanced SQL and notebook-based engineering to facilitate automated reporting, ensure governed self-service analytics, and maintain stable month-end data operations. Key Responsibilities Lead the architecture, development, and stabilization of a centralized Finance reporting data platform to support comprehensive reporting and analytics. Design and implement efficient data pipelines utilizing Databricks for ingestion, transformation, and preparation of Finance data from various enterprise sources, with curated datasets stored in Snowflake and Databricks. Develop and manage Finance data models, schemas, and curated reporting datasets, ensuring optimal performance and scalability while addressing reporting and analytics needs. Oversee the month-end ingestion, transformation, and readiness of financial data, ensuring stable and governed workflows are established to meet reporting timelines. Automate data preparation and transformation processes to minimize manual labor, enhance reliability, and establish consistent reporting operations. Standardize financial hierarchies, mappings, and metric definitions across business lines to ensure uniformity in reporting outcomes. Create and govern curated datasets to enable effective Power BI reporting and self-service analytics for Finance, facilitating the onboarding of new reporting domains into the platform. Enforce data quality controls, validation procedures, lineage tracking, and change management to maintain accuracy, auditability, and traceability of financial data. Collaborate with leaders from Finance Transformation, Reporting & Analytics, Accounting, FP&A, and enterprise data teams to translate reporting requirements into robust data solutions aligned with company architecture. Provide technical leadership and manage delivery across platform initiatives, overseeing vendor and offshore engineering teams while defining standards and practices for platform architecture and operations. Utilize your expertise to drive impactful change Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, Finance, or a related field. Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, BI architecture, or analytics platforms. At least 3 years of experience leading data or BI engineering projects or platforms. Minimum of 2 years of direct people leadership experience. Advanced SQL expertise for large-scale data transformation, modeling, and optimization. Practical experience in constructing data pipelines in Databricks, including notebooks, jobs, and orchestration. Experience in managing data models and databases in Snowflake and/or Databricks environments. Familiarity with modern data engineering practices and cloud data platforms. Solid background in operationalizing automated data workflows and reporting preparations. Experience in Finance or accounting-related data domains such as GL, ERP, planning, and reporting. Ability to convert Finance reporting needs into effective scalable data solutions. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Finance transformation or FP&A reporting environments. Knowledge of enterprise financial systems (e.g., Oracle Financials, Anaplan, ERP platforms). Experience in designing governed analytical datasets or semantic layers for BI tools like Power BI. Understanding of healthcare financial data domains (claims, membership, RCM). Experience managing offshore or vendor data engineering teams. Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and financial control requirements. Master's degree in Information Systems, Analytics, or Business. Additional Information WAH Internet Statement To ensure effective work from home, employees must provide internet service with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps. A wired cable or DSL connection is recommended. Employees residing in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive bi-weekly reimbursement for internet expenses. Humana will equip Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with necessary telephone equipment for business needs. A dedicated workspace free from interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information is required. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices may be necessary for training or meetings. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment (40 hours per week). Pay may vary based on location, individual's skills, knowledge, experience, and education. $117,600 - $161,700 annually This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
