As a Senior Data Scientist on the Platform team, you'll engage in high-impact, cross-functional projects that aim to improve safety, reliability, and usability at Coinbase while driving growth through informed decision-making and precise measurement. Your responsibilities will involve projects like identifying drop-off points and reliability challenges in essential user journeys, developing metric systems, and optimizing experimentation and causal inference techniques (including A/B tests and incrementality measures). Key Responsibilities: Analyze complex and ambiguous business challenges, delivering insights and recommendations that steer decision-making. Take ownership of a wide range of data and metrics, from core logging to presenting data visualizations. Lead code reviews, provide expertise in SQL and Python, and develop well-maintained ETL jobs. Set high standards for statistical rigor in your work, ensuring that experimentation and causal analyses foster confidence among stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Stats, Physics, or Computer Science) with 5+ years of related experience, or a PhD in a quantitative field with 3+ years of relevant experience. Proven experience in driving impactful data science projects addressing ambiguous problem spaces. Ability to influence stakeholders by crafting compelling narratives from data insights. Hands-on expertise in applying complex modeling techniques to real-world business scenarios. Professional experience with SQL and Python. Experience working with digital products within iterative development cycles.
