Coinbase is actively seeking software engineers to join our team, tasked with developing the next generation of crypto-focused products and features. You will solve complex technical issues at a large scale, navigating the intersection of web-scale applications and blockchain technology. You will build systems aimed at making cryptocurrency accessible globally, handling real-time applications with high frequency, low latency updates, and managing secure, Dockerized infrastructure in the cloud. You will have the flexibility to choose your preferred team within the Product Group org (Base, Developer, Consumer, Institutional, Platform) or the Core Teams org (Security, Enterprise Applications & Architecture). Product Groups Base: The Ethereum Layer 2 network designed to be secure, low-cost, and developer-friendly, aimed at scaling the crypto economy. As a Base engineer, you'll develop seamless integrations, fiat onramps, and tools connecting developers to over 108 million users and more than $100 billion in assets. Consumer: Focused on creating the fastest and simplest access to crypto through the Coinbase retail app, this team aims to become the top self-custody wallet provider, developing products like the Coinbase app, advanced trading features, dApps, and staking for the future of on-chain engagement. Developer: This team empowers crypto builders with tools including Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS) and Coinbase Cloud. WaaS provides API-based access to various blockchain networks, while Coinbase Cloud offers Web3 APIs and services to support next-generation software development. Institutional: This team caters to large financial institutions, enabling secure custody of digital assets and facilitating participation in the crypto economy. They create scalable platforms, innovative technologies, and user-friendly interfaces across web, mobile, and browser extensions. Platform: Responsible for developing the scalable and compliant systems that support Coinbase's products, ensuring a seamless experience for users. With teams focused on Identity, FinHub, and Payments, Platform engineers work on foundational systems that enhance efficiency and promote innovation throughout the company. Core Teams Security: Central to our mission, this team works in a dynamic environment, creating solutions for critical security and compliance challenges. As part of the Security team, you'll help design systems like the Workforce IAM Platform to enhance access and security oversight. Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EAA): Focused on creating innovative platforms that enhance user and employee experiences, EAA Software Engineers develop cutting-edge solutions that improve customer support and automate efficiency in various processes. Your Responsibilities: Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and leadership to transform our technical vision into actionable plans every quarter. Create high-quality, well-tested code that fulfills customer needs. What We’re Looking For: Available to start work immediately. At least 1 year of experience in software engineering or development. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with backend or frontend development using technologies such as Golang, MongoDB, AWS, Docker, Postgres, Ruby, Rails, or React Native. A degree or certification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
