Amazon is seeking a talented Construction Project Manager (CPM) to lead the design and construction of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across our facilities in the United States. In this role, you will oversee both the design management and construction execution of EV charging infrastructure, including power distribution systems and charging stations. You will take charge of the entire project lifecycle, from inception to handover, ensuring that we comply with Amazon's rigorous standards, local codes, and project-specific requirements. Your focus will be on the installation of EV chargers, electrical distribution, and service upgrades. As a Construction Project Manager, you will perform detailed reviews of designs, budgets, and schedules to identify and resolve discrepancies, including those within consultant and contractor bid packages. Your collaboration will extend to internal customers and external stakeholders such as utility companies, contractors, charging equipment manufacturers, and design consultants, allowing you to build strong partnerships that drive results. You will serve as Amazon's primary representative, interfacing with Developers, Contractors, Utilities, and Design Consultants, playing a pivotal role in integrating design and construction teams with other Amazon stakeholders responsible for implementing and operating our EV charging network. This exciting opportunity blends design management, construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging projects. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from small renovations to large-sized facilities (over $30M). Provide insights on the impact of schedule, costs, and permitting changes. Oversee design and construction scope, cost, and schedule while coordinating with internal technical teams and operational customers. Audit procedures and labor efficiency at facilities; recommend solutions for infrastructure, safety, and security issues. Negotiate contracts, formal changes, and approvals for documentation. Ensure contracts are efficient and maintain appropriate Service Level Agreements. Assess project performance using KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability. Lead project teams (including architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors) throughout the project lifecycle; provide site management, coordination, and planning. Identify and resolve design clashes, misses, and schedule conflicts. Review designs and construction for adherence; identify value engineering opportunities. Handle comprehensive budget tracking, forecasting, and management. Engage with regulatory bodies on project discussions. Promote clear, concise, and transparent communication across teams. This is a remote role, requiring up to 60% regional travel to various locations across North America, depending on business needs. A Day in the Life: Your day may start with reviewing schedules and RFIs for EV charging projects, followed by site visits to document progress and troubleshoot real-time issues. You might spend your afternoons negotiating contracts or reviewing payments while balancing back-to-back meetings and clarifying design intents. You'll regularly be on the ground at various construction sites, keeping the pace fast and engaging.
