Company: Highmark Health Job Summary CANDIDATE MUST BE US Citizen (due to contractual/access requirements) This position operates on a hybrid model. Employees within a 50-mile radius of our Pittsburgh, Buffalo, or Camp Hill locations are required to work from the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If you are outside of the 50-mile radius of Pittsburgh, Buffalo, or Camp Hill, you will work remotely. The Cybersecurity Architect will develop a security architecture that efficiently processes various levels of sensitive information while remaining compliant with established enterprise security control requirements. You will produce gap analysis documents to identify discrepancies between specific technical security requirements and the architecture of the system, and provide detailed technical recommendations for mitigation measures. You will also consult with clients on the design, implementation, and deployment of technical security controls, leveraging existing security services to solve complex problems or enable new business opportunities. The role encompasses network security, operating system security, data protection, application security, mobile computing security, and partner/vendor access control. Essential Responsibilities Enhance team outcomes by delivering security solutions, mentoring less experienced members, and teaching improved processes. Assess security requirements through business evaluation, system security analyses, and risk assessments. Design security systems through technology evaluation. Implement security measures by identifying methodologies, supervising equipment installation, and preparing action plans. Contribute to the department’s reputation by owning new requests and exploring additional value-added opportunities. Provide leadership and mentoring in security architecture to peers, management, and business users. Ensure compliance with required standards and processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security, or Engineering, or equivalent experience as determined by the company. Preferred Education Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. Experience Minimum: 5 - 7 years of experience in architecting security solutions. 5 - 7 years in Information Security. Proven ability to communicate effectively with business partners. Preferred: 7 - 10 years of experience in solution architecture. Skills Strong business communication skills, both written and verbal, with a problem-solving mindset. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, application protocols (SNMP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP), and VPNs. Familiarity with information technology and security industry trends and concepts. Expertise in analyzing technical systems and providing actionable recommendations. In-depth knowledge of application security vulnerabilities and countermeasures. Experience with security management frameworks such as HITRUST, ISO 27001, and ITIL. Knowledge of encryption technologies and common security protocols. Ability to recommend solutions for enterprise security controls, including networks, firewalls, data security, and more.
