We are seeking a skilled Preconstruction Manager to lead complex projects, including environmental, heavy civil, and military facilities. Your expertise in accurate estimating will be crucial to our success. As a Preconstruction Manager, you will dive into proposals, conceptual designs, and detailed design documents (drawings and specifications). Your responsibilities will also include attending design development meetings and conducting site visits to thoroughly define project scope and assess cost impacts. You will collaborate with a dynamic team, preparing estimates by developing project work breakdown structures, conducting comprehensive scope of work take-offs, and assisting contracts staff with subcontractor and vendor statements of work. Your analytical abilities will be essential in utilizing construction means and methods, preparing schedules, and evaluating indirect field and owner’s costs. Collaboration with design teams will be central to your role, ensuring accurate input is gathered to create design-build construction estimates. Your creativity and analytical skills will shine as you produce insightful reports and presentations, analyzing historical data to bolster project planning. We value keen attention to detail, extensive construction experience, and a desire to grow within the industry. Together, we can tackle challenging water and wastewater projects! A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, along with substantial experience in the field, is required. A strong background in water and wastewater construction is essential, including hands-on field experience. Proficiency with technology, including communications, estimating, scheduling, and database software is necessary. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation, Bluebeam, Timberline, Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, and SQL-based databases is preferred. A solid understanding of estimating organization and processes, including quantity takeoff, crew development, productivity relationships, material quotations, and risk management is crucial. You should be skilled in quantitative risk analysis using software like Deltek Acumen, and have experience with industry estimating tools like Timberline and HCSS Heavy Bid. Knowledge of project scheduling methodologies and related software, such as Primavera P6 and Smartsheet, is important. Experience in mentoring junior staff is advantageous, and you should be open to occasional travel to meet project needs. Although travel is generally infrequent, flexibility is required. We Prefer Candidates Who Also Have: Strong written, oral, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with clients on complex subjects. Adept interpersonal skills for building relationships and efficiently resolving conflicts. The ability to work independently with defined expectations and guidance to achieve success.
