The starting annual salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $120,000, dependent on various factors such as experience, location, and qualifications. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards based on eligibility. As a Mechanical Component Engineer, you will leverage over 3 years of experience in mechanical component design and development within regulated environments. Your expertise in CAD and FEA, coupled with cross-functional collaboration, will help us deliver compliant, cost-effective solutions aligned with USDA and 3-A standards. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with a passion for quality and continuous improvement. This position operates from our Hudson, WI office and includes a hybrid work schedule. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage mechanical documentation for components within our databases. Provide technical guidance in component development, collaborating closely with Product Managers and the Center of Competence (CoC). Identify cost-saving opportunities in components and manufacturing processes. Ensure designs meet GEA standards, customer specifications, and applicable USDA and 3-A regulations. Coordinate project activities with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders. Support technical development and resolve engineering design challenges. Review designs to ensure compliance with engineering principles and specifications. Engage in design review meetings for key components, including new or customized designs. Work with fabrication teams to optimize manufacturability and minimize costs. Produce component technical specifications and actively participate in design evaluations. Approve design changes and manage document releases. Prepare and maintain operational manuals detailing equipment functions. Specify components for purchasing and assist in procurement negotiations. Handle project-specific structural engineering requirements. Manage item requirements within the ERP system. Create spare parts lists for assigned components. Participate in relevant USDA and 3-A workgroups as necessary. Offer technical mentoring and support to project teams. Complete additional duties as assigned by your supervisor. Your Profile / Qualifications: Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Food Science, or related fields). Proven experience in mechanical engineering, FEA, and CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or Inventor. Familiarity with USDA and 3-A regulations. A minimum of 3 years of experience in dairy component technology or similar industries. Preferred knowledge in structural engineering. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
