GEA Group has different salary ranges based on various U.S. locations. Please note that this range does not guarantee compensation and is budgeted for this role. Final offers will consider factors such as skills, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related elements. Additional rewards may include discretionary bonuses and/or equity awards. Position Overview The Director of Technical Offer Management (TOM) leads a specialized team of process and application engineers dedicated to developing high-quality technical scopes and precise cost bases for sales projects. These projects vary from straightforward technology solutions to intricate, multi-technology systems. This critical role supports the sales organization throughout the proposal lifecycle—from opportunity qualification to final negotiations—while ensuring alignment with business strategy, technical innovation, and risk management. The Director is responsible for delivering robust technical proposals, process designs, cost calculations, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. This position is based at our Hudson, WI facility and follows a hybrid work schedule, consisting of four (4) onsite days and one (1) remote day per week. Leadership & Team Management Responsibilities Lead and develop the LFF Technical Offer Management team to provide timely, accurate, and competitive technical proposals. Act as a visible and motivating leader, especially for direct reports. Manage resource allocation, prioritize workloads, and utilize team members effectively. Support team members' growth through training and development opportunities. Collaborate with the Department Head on the career advancement and compensation of direct reports. Foster a positive, communicative, and high-performing team environment. Technical & Proposal Oversight Responsibilities Oversee process design, technical proposals, and cost calculations for all LFF offers. Ensure risk mitigation in technical scopes, acceptance criteria, KPIs, and process warranties. Oversee GEA’s core technologies including Filtration, Heat Treatment, Mixing Systems, Brewery Systems, and other liquid processing technologies. Ensure adherence to BU Americas TOM Governance, PPP, and NPE Rulebook procedures. Direct opportunity qualification to ensure precise input for TOM development. Monitor proposal progress, process design reviews, and risk mitigation strategies. Business & Strategic Alignment Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the LFF Sales Director to align TOM priorities with NPE NAM strategy. Ensure alignment with the NPE innovation strategy and the Center of Competence project portfolio. Assist sales teams in client interactions by showcasing technical capabilities and solutions. Engage in business process optimization and best practice sharing. Promote knowledge sharing, internal project involvement, and continuous improvement initiatives. Proactively collaborate across GEA Systems North America LLC and other GEA Group companies to optimize synergies. Maintain effective communication with management. Financial, Safety & Compliance Responsibilities Achieve budgetary and strategic goals while ensuring accurate reporting. Oversee cost center expenses to align with budget and business objectives. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and standards. Guarantee that employees utilize appropriate tools effectively in their daily work. Secure alignment with overall business goals. Your Qualifications Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering Equivalent education combined with a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience may also be considered General leadership training or diploma is highly preferred Professional Experience At least 10 years of experience in related applications and technologies Experience in matrix organizations with the ability to influence without direct authority is a significant asset Proven track record in change management Expertise in negotiation and contracting processes Required Skills & Competencies Fluency in English (both written and spoken) Strong technical expertise complemented by project management knowledge Robust commercial acumen Open-minded, innovative, and proactive towards driving change Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities Self-driven with the capability to inspire others Excellent communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills Collaborative team player Able to work across diverse companies, locations, and cultures Confident presenter and public speaker Willingness to travel globally (approximately 30-40 days per year) At GEA, we do not just offer jobs; we provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, enabling you to make a meaningful impact. #engineeringforthebetter Please note: This position is based in the United States and does not offer visa or work sponsorship.
