Sign-on Bonus: $2500 Your Role: As a MDS Nurse Assessment Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting and ensuring precise Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for all residents. Your expertise will significantly contribute to tailoring care plans for residents and securing appropriate clinical reimbursement for the services they receive. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate Patient Driven Payment Method (PDPM) and related expenses for incoming residents. Assist in the admission process by assessing nursing requirements and establishing appropriate reimbursement levels. Oversee the completion and accuracy of MDS assessments for all residents. Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores to identify risks and changes that may impact funding. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding MDS documentation and coding standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for accurate data collection during assessments. Provide ongoing insights and training to staff and management to enhance compliance and accuracy. The chance to positively impact the lives of residents and their families. What You Need to Succeed: Current RN nursing license valid in your state. Preferred advanced degree or certification. Experience in direct care in long-term care, and as MDS Coordinator or Clinical Reimbursement Specialist is a plus. Familiarity with state and federal regulations on MDS, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PDP, MDS 3.0, and Medicare/Medicaid requirements is advantageous. A deep commitment to the nursing needs of the elderly and chronically ill. An organized, detail-oriented approach with strong analytical and independent decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. A proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Join Us!
