Your role and responsibilities As a Senior Appian Solutions Developer, you will design and develop Appian solutions, including: Implementing comprehensive process automation using Appian and various intelligent automation technologies. Conducting thorough code reviews for fellow Appian developers. Performing root cause analysis for any Appian outages. Restoring Appian services promptly in the event of disruptions. Building Appian-based solutions using all available object types. Integrating external applications utilizing REST and SOAP-based APIs. Developing and updating Appian plugins (Java) to address security vulnerabilities. Assessing application performance and offering recommendations for enhancements. Evaluating environment performance, suggesting sizing improvements, and identifying resource needs to prevent bottlenecks. Required technical and professional expertise Appian Certified Senior Developer with over 3 years of hands-on Appian development experience, preferably in senior or lead roles supporting production applications. 1+ years of experience in developing Appian plugins and managing an on-premise Appian production environment. 2+ years of experience in configuring and debugging Appian interfaces, reports, underlying logic, and system integrations. 2+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL scripting, supporting large-scale, mission-critical systems. 2+ years of experience designing and implementing SOAP and REST APIs, alongside a strong grasp of broader technology ecosystems and Agile SDLC practices (3+ years). You must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Preferred technical and professional experience Experience in Federal & Technical Architecture: 2+ years working on software development projects within a Federal government context, including defining and documenting architectures across multiple views. Technical Development & Infrastructure: 1 year of Java experience, familiarity with Appian for Kubernetes, NoSQL databases, cloud resource management, and application performance optimization. Professional & Interpersonal Skills: Strong analytical and technical abilities coupled with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, alongside collaborative teamwork and facilitation capabilities.
