Nutanix Database Service (NDB) solves these complexities by offering a unified platform for managing database operations—from provisioning and patching to scaling and lifecycle management—across hybrid and multicloud environments. With major enterprises already adopting NDB, it enhances application performance, ensures data governance, and meets regulatory compliance requirements while uniquely supporting leading database engines such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. We are in search of an innovative Global Sales Executive to spearhead our NDB go-to-market strategy. In this crucial leadership position, you will significantly contribute to solidifying our presence in the database market, driving revenue growth, and establishing Nutanix as a thought leader in the DBaaS sector. About the Team The NDB Specialist Sales Team plays a central role in Nutanix's strategic growth, significantly contributing to our success with some of the world's largest enterprises. Collaborative Environment: Our global team encompasses North America, EMEA, and APJ, creating a collaborative atmosphere where members closely collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing, Core Sales, and Channel teams. Customer-Centric Mission: We focus on assisting customers in updating their database systems, simplifying operations, and accelerating their digital transformation initiatives. Our engagements span from Fortune 100 enterprises to fast-growing startups. Your Role As the Global Sales Executive for NDB, you will play a key role in transforming the database industry. Your objectives will include promoting the value of NDB, building and managing a high-performing sales team, and driving strategic partnerships with enterprise customers. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market plan for the NDB business while tracking pipeline generation, bookings targets, and customer adoption. Sales and Revenue Ownership: Own the global sales numbers, revenue targets, and sales forecasts for NDB, aiming to enhance customer value, shorten sales cycles, and effectively compete in the market. Team Development: Lead a matrixed team of skilled database sales specialists, focusing on hiring, mentoring, and nurturing top talent. Market Influence: Represent Nutanix's vision in the database sector at industry events and high-level customer meetings while establishing a strong brand presence. Partnership Development: Collaborate with ecosystem partners, including database vendors, cloud providers, and GSIs to expand market reach. Sales Enablement: Partner with our enablement teams to develop a thorough training strategy that empowers sellers to articulate the challenges Nutanix addresses and our unique advantages. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to guide the NDB roadmap based on customer feedback and market demands, ensuring our products enhance deal acceleration. What You Will Bring We seek an accomplished and driven Senior Director to lead our Global NDB Sales team. Reporting to Global Sales leadership, you will be at the forefront of our go-to-market endeavors for Nutanix's flagship database solution. Expertise in Databases: Significant experience within the database and DBaaS market, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of database technologies, data management trends, and competitive landscapes. Sales Leadership: A minimum of 10 years of quota-carrying experience in enterprise software sales, with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role within a fast-paced, global environment. Successful GTM Execution: A proven record of developing and implementing successful go-to-market strategies that drive significant revenue growth for emerging product lines in the enterprise software sector. Industry Authority: Established experience as a market evangelist, engaging audiences at industry events, communicating with analysts, and crafting a compelling brand narrative. Complex Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating large, intricate software contracts with enterprise clients. Entrepreneurial and Collaborative Mindset: As a humble leader with a proactive approach, you are a self-starter who thrives in collaborative environments and takes initiative when required. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required; an MBA is preferred. Willingness to travel up to 50% for both domestic and international engagements. Work Arrangement This position is primarily remote, with no specific office requirements unless business needs necessitate in-person meetings or travel to other locations. The On-Target Earnings (OTE) Pay Range for this position starts between USD $368,000 and USD $552,000 annually. Base pay may vary based on individual factors such as market location, knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical coverage, financial benefits, and 401(k) eligibility, along with various paid time off options. If hired, you will be in an 'at-will position.' The company reserves the right to adjust compensation based on performance and market factors.
