Job Description: CDM Smith is seeking a Sediment Remediation Specialist to join our Environmental Services Group. In this role, you will play a crucial part in crafting innovative strategies for sediment remediation projects across the United States. We appreciate both your independent problem-solving skills and your ability to work within diverse teams, focusing on delivering effective solutions for clients in federal and public sectors. We are looking for candidates who possess: Experience in modeling the transport of contaminants through sediment caps. Strong knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) related to remediation projects, along with a foundational understanding of geotechnical engineering. Expertise in performing slope stability modeling and developing detailed drawings for dredging and soil excavation tasks. Capability to create field sampling programs, interpret analytical data, and construct conceptual site models to elucidate fate and transport processes. Familiarity with numerical and desktop model development and its practical applications. Proven experience in evaluating sediment remediation technologies while collaborating with multiple stakeholders on design aspects. As the primary contact for intricate sediment remediation projects, you will demonstrate your ability to identify challenges, devise strategic solutions, and communicate effectively with clients. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. - A minimum of 5 years of related experience. - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by project demands. Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Science, Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering. - Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 18 months of hire.
